I didn't know the family. I only saw a small story about a family found on the beach and was very interested find out what happened to this poor family. What evil had they met on the cliff? I never could have imagined the sorrowful story. It was so much sadder and more heartbreaking than anything I have ever heard. I held my first-born, one year old son as I read the story of Sam and his loving parents and imagined the depth of their grief, which was directly proportional to the depth of their love for Sam. I understood completely how there would not seem to be a need to carry on after losing him. Their sacrifice is a testament to the deep, unending love parents feel for their children. Neil and Kazumi are icons of that love.
